EVER TO EXCEL

On October 31st, our eighth graders, escorted by Mrs. Kakivelis and Mrs. Vlachoyannis, visited the 9/11

Museum and the St. Nicholas Shrine Church where they learned about one of the most

significant and solemn moments in the recent history of New York and the United States and

experienced some strong emotions — a mixture of sadness, empathy, and deep reflection — after

viewing powerful images and items that survived that tragic day. The experience was an

emotional, reflective, powerful and meaningful lesson that will stay with our graduating class

forever.

On October 29th, the Hawks won their first game of the season against Fantis with a final score 27-43. Congratulations boys! What a great start!

On October 24th, we ended the week with our OXI Day Assembly, a highlight of our October calendar and a celebration of faith, courage, and patriotism. Our second graders were the stars of the program, sharing heartfelt messages of love for freedom, faith, justice, and country. Students from grades three through eight filled our school with their beautiful patriotic songs, their voices blending in harmony to honor the heroes of 1940 and the sacrifices that shaped modern Greek history. Their performance reminded us of the power of pride, unity, and perseverance—values that continue to inspire us today. Congratulations to all our students, their Greek teachers, and our music department for a truly outstanding presentation that moved everyone in attendance.
